BEHIND THE Endometriosis Australia DOCUMENTARY 2016

Australian Endometriosis webinars

More than 730,000 (over 10%) of Australian women suffer from endometriosis at some point in their life. The disease often first emerges in the teenage years.

Endometriosis makes tissue that is similar to the lining of the womb grow outside of the womb and in other parts of the body.

While endometriosis most commonly affects the reproductive organs, it is frequently found in the bowel and bladder and has been found in muscle, joints, the lungs and the brain.

Symptoms are variable and this may contribute to the 7 to 12 year delay in diagnosis sufferers typically experience. Common symptoms include pelvic pain severe enough that women put their life on hold around or during a period.

To help inform the public and those suffering from this condition, four medical webinars were created for Endometriosis Australia.
